题目：Turbulent dissipation and structure in the space plasma flows
摘要：The energy conversion within fast flows of the Earth’s plasma sheet can be attributed to electrical coupling with the ionosphere, broadband electromagnetic waves, dipolarization front and intermittent structures. The dissipation scales and its region are shown to depend on local flow characteristics. However, the detailed observational evidence of the energy conversion process, in which the electromagnetic field interact with particles is still lacking. In this study, by investigating the work done by electromagnetic fields on the particles D = J • E, electromagnetic fluctuations, and ion velocity distributions, we report one case study illustrating the turbulent dissipation process associated with lower hybrid waves in the reconnection-driven outflow. Strong turbulent dissipation |J • E| > 100 pW/m3 lasting around 1 minutes are identified in the dusk-ward flows. Meanwhile, distinct ion velocity distributions with f(v⊥) >f(v||) are found in the strong dissipation regions, suggesting ions are heated in the perpendicular direction.
